About us
WildSOS is an independent, free platform that connects people who find a wild animal with the right rescue center.
How WildSOS was born
Someone finds falcons trapped in an industrial warehouse. They have no idea what to do. They call the emergency line — not their department. They call the local health authority — no answer. They search online — old numbers, incomprehensible institutional websites, PDFs from 2009.
A few kilometres away, there was a wildlife rescue center that would have answered immediately, recovered the falcons, and handled everything. But that person had no idea such centers even existed.
WildSOS was built to close this gap: making rescue centers visible to those who need them, at the moment they need them.
Unbiased
We are not affiliated with any association. We map all recognised rescue centers across Italy.
Mobile-first
People who find an animal are often on the street, phone in hand. We are optimised for that.
Always free
For citizens, it is and will always remain free.
The Italian context
Italy has over 130 CRAS (Wildlife Recovery Centers — Centri di Recupero Animali Selvatici) spread across the country. Managed by associations, cooperatives, and public bodies — often with limited resources but exceptional expertise.
The problem is not their absence: it is their invisibility. Those who need them in a moment of crisis can rarely find them — if at all.
Italy has partial directories and brand-affiliated services. No one offers what WildSOS offers: unbiased, mobile-first, with real-time geolocation and integrated legal guidance.
